Every mandir is built to order. Timber, proportions and finish are chosen for the room it will live in.

Size Guide

From a tabletop shrine to a grand mandir

Every piece is built to your room. These four are the sizes we are asked for most, drawn here to scale.

  • 1.3m Compact 70 to 80cm wide
  • 1.6m Standard 60cm to 1.0m wide
  • 2.1m Tall 1.2m wide
  • 2.7m Grand 1.0 to 1.2m wide

Heights are measured to the tip of the finial. Depths run 40 to 60cm. Anything between these sizes is made to order.

Our Craft

Tradition lives here

Golden Temple House is a small Sydney studio devoted to Nepali temple craft. We cut, carve, join and finish every mandir by hand. The tiered pagoda roofs, the carved torana fringe, the turned columns and the gold-leaf detail are all worked in our own workshop, not assembled from a flat pack.

Nothing is built before it is measured. We size each piece to your alcove, your ceiling and the way your family gathers to pray, then deliver and install it in person across Sydney, and crate it carefully for homes right across Australia.
